This shouldn't count as an actual post, but

LOOK at that sweet cutting job on that mat. These are the first mats I've done that have looked this good- BUT to be fair, I do have better tools now. However, even with those tools there are still a few ugly mats that you're not seeing that came before these.

Ivy is pretty close to the actual color of the piece because I took the photo without flash, but because I needed a pretty strong light on overhead to take a photo without flash Harley looks extra washed out.

So far so good.

Remember THIS? I've been working on it some more. It's almost there! It looks a little washed out because my camera is terrible. I've still gotta separate them out into two pieces and put them on a matte. I'm still debating whether or not I want the section of matte piece between them to have pies and leaves on it.

Painting tutorial by Damian Fulton

We're proud to introduce a new tutorial exclusively for COTW by former Disney and Marvel artist Damian Fulton, which shows the progression of one of his paintings: "An Eye for an Eye". We love Damian's imaginative world of characters and narratives, with urban and surf/beach culture clashes in Los Angeles, California central to his work, and of course in his words, "If you're the type that likes monsters, trucks, beaches and babes, you've come to the right place!".
We hope you like it…
